At the sight of the kneazle being so close to both of them and seeming to like them, Hikari felt a little easier. Kneazles didn't take well to suspicious people after all. She didn't really think professor Gumbligger was suspicious, but it was in her nature. She relaxed a bit more mentally and seemed a bit brighter.
"Yes, i see it and the one near the other tree to," she said, "this one here seems to like us." Hikari smiled at the kneazle. Perhaps she could get one of a mix breed of one and a regular cat.

"It does to!" Replied Professor Gumbligger. He fell silent for a moment and looked at the Kneazle. He focused his energy, and began speaking his mind to the animal. Come closer. Come up so we can pet you, you cute little thing. We won't hurt you, come and play!
Very few people realised it, but Professor Gumbligger had the ability to speak to animals. He had had it since a very young age, but not even his parents knew. Hikari most definitely would not!
He watched proudly as the kneazle approached the fence, and he leant over to stroke it. "Stroke it, Hikari. Its fur is wonderfully soft."

Hikari watched closely as the Kneazle wandered closer to them. She was quite curious as to why it would want to wonder this close to him. Some animals were afraid of her, though she did like them. Perhaps that was why Professor Gumbligger was a magizoology professor, he just had that type of affect on animals, because it certainly couldn't have been Hikari that attracted it.
Hikari got up from the bench and went slowly to the fence. The kneazle backed away slightly. She bent down in front of it and put her hand to the fence. The kneazle then approached her, first checking her scent, then brushing against her hand, wanting to be petted. She smiled at it, her smile a peaceful and serene one.

Professor Gumbligger watched as Hikari pet the Kneazle. The sight was beautiful, he loved watching people getting close and interacting with creatures. Of course that was one of the many reasons he had become a Magizoology professor.
As he watched Hikari pet the Kneazle, he asked her a question. "So, Hikari, what do you think of the university so far? I know you haven't had any lectures or anything, but just in general." He wasn't sure if he worded it correctly, but when a sentence comes out, you can't take it back or change it!

Hikari gave a sideways glance to professor Gumbligger when he asked another question. She thought about what she had seen so far at the university. "So far things have been going well and the university seems great. I rather like it so far," she said.
She looked back at the kneazle, still stroking it's fur. It made a sort of purring sound. "And what do you think of the university so far, professor," Hikari asked.

Professor Gumbligger pondered on the question. As he did he felt his face warm up as strobes of orange sunlight touched down to earth. The warming sensation was nice, as the morning had been quite cold. "Hikari, I think this is a great educational institution and I am truly honoured to work in such a place. This academy had prestige, and all the top witches and wizards from all around the world come here. I guess that really, I just consider myself lucky to be chosen." It was true what he said. 400 Magizoology professors in the world and they summoned him! Now wasn't that just an honour?

The kneazle licked Hikari's hand out of affection of some sort. How this creature could have affection for her, she didn't know, however she would let the creature do as it pleased. She let her hand roam over the creatures head, scratching behind it's ears tenderly. She did have a fondness for animals, it seemed, though she could never get too close due to their mistrust in what she was.
"It must be a great honor to be able to teach here," she said after a short moment of silence. She had never any liking for teaching, mostly because of her dislike of crowds and being the center of attention. She let her eyes wonder to the other creatures in the enclosure, then back to the one in front of her. The others seem to be more cautious of her, probably wondering how this one stands her so much.

And an honour it truly was. He smiled, let out a small hmmm and nodded his head. He was not a boastful person, in fact he was quite shy of his achievements. No-one even knew half of them!
He began to wonder, how long had they been here? The sun was getting higher and higher every second. It wasn't that he wasn't enjoying Hikari's company, it was just he was getting terribly hungry. He could invite her out for lunch. Or would it seem strange? Surely professors and students can have friendships, especially since university students are adult anyway!
"Hikari, I'm feeling a bit famished. Would you care to come for a bite of lunch at The Hungry Horntail?"

Hikari gave the kneazle a final pet before getting slowly to her feet. Her movements were always calm and calculating, as she had always been. She pulled some of her hair behind her ear and glanced at professor Gumbligger. She felt somewhat hungry, though not too hungry. She never really had a big appetite anyway.
The sun was rising higher in the sky and the kneazle decided it wasn't going to get anymore attention from the girl and walked back further into the enclosure. Hikari gave a brief glance at it as it walked off, back to the others further in where there were dense trees.
"A meal sounds nice," she said glancing back at him, "we should probably head there now, you do look a bit hungry." Hikari began walking back to the entrance of the zoo.

Professor Gumbligger was delighted that she had accepted his invitation. "Okay, Hikari. I will meet you there in half an hour, at twelve o'clock. I just have to go to my office and get changed and freshen up. I was only planning on being her for an hour, before anyone else woke up, and that's why I'm dressed like this" he was talking about his creased clothes that he wore to bed. "So I will see you there!"
