Ronald sat at the table he had reserved and waited for his guest to arrive.

Jane walked through the shopping center, looking for the place Ronald Gumbligger had invited her to. She spotted the sign and was glad she had double checked the type of restaurant the Hungry Hornatil was. She was wearing a dark turquoise robe, which was fastened at the neck by silver clasps, shaped like two inter-coiling snakes. She has let her hair fall lose, but kept it in check with two silver clips, again shaped like snakes, only these snakes were outstretched. She was wearing a little make up, mainly to cover any blemishes, and to fit in with the rest of the restaurants clientele. She was shown to the table by a waiter, and she sat down. "Good Evening Mr Gumbligger, thank you for the invitation. It was a pleasant surprise." she said once she was comfortable.

Ron smiled as his guest arrived. She looked absolutely fabulous. But he was not interested in her in that area, his interest was professional. But he was also hoping they would become good friends. "Good evening Jane, thank you for joining me. Sorry about the late notice." He had only sent the invitation earlier that day.
The waiter returned, offering drinks. "We'll have a bottle of your finest champagne, thank you." The waiter disappeared and moments later returned, champagne in tow. Ron poured two glasses and gave one to Jane, before calling a toast. "To the Magizoology department and its efficient running."

(OOC: Grace?)
Jane accepted the glass and joined in the toast. "Yes, to the department." she took a sip and smiled, "So what did you do before you became a professor" she asked. The Champagne was good quality, no doubt. She shifted position in her chair to get a little more comfortable.

[OOC: Whoops! I must have been a little busy, probably talking to Grace on a different board. Anyway my sicerest apologies, I edited it!]
After the glasses chimed together Ron took a sip of the bubbling champagne. It was very tasty, must have been of the highest quality. He guessed he would find out just how high when the bill arrived!
Jane began conversation by asking Ron of his past careers. "Before I was a professor.....well.....that was a long time ago!" He chuckled at the thought. "My first ever job was actually working as a waiter in the Three Broomsticks in Hogsmeade. I first entered the world of animals at the age of twenty-eight, when I became a zookeeper. From there, I have always taught students. First at the Australian Institution of Magical Education, then at Hogwarts, and now here at this fine university. How about you, Jane?"
