After her sucessful application to University, Molly was very pleased with herself. She knew her mother would be too, Magizology wasn't her first choice but at least her Mother would be happy knowing she was safe. Today was her first day on campus, so lesson's hadn't started just yet. Molly who after having recived the news about her application decided to go for a walk.
Molly walked through the grounds until she found a lake, it was called Gillyweed Lake, strangly enough. Oh well whatever, thought Molly shrugging her sholders, this will do she decided. Molly sat down on a rock, facing the Lake, she watched the ripples in the water glow. Molly sat there thinking, she thought of her mother and a sad but wishful smile came to her face. I did it Mother, I made to universtiy, I hope your happy where ever you are, she thought. She let out a small sigh, I wonder how everyone else is doing?
Molly sat down on that rock for quite some time thinking about her family, missing her mother everyday. I wish you were here Mother she told her self. It had only been a year ago when it happened, and it hurt Molly everytime she thought about it, though she rarely did show her pain, she stayed happy for her Mother's sake.
Molly looked out on to the lake, she wasn't quite sure how long she'd been sitting there for but it was starting to get late. The sun had drifted down, the light refelting on the water, it would soon be night but Molly didn't care. She wasn't in any rush to leave, it was so pretty and peaceful here.

It was beginning to get dark out and the cool breezes were flowing through the air. The sounds of robes could be heard fluttering slightly to anyone listening. Footsteps soon followed, crunching the grass beneath with every step. A lone shadow made its way down to the lake. The shadow was a girl, more specifically Hikari.
She wore a black hoodie and black pants under her robes. Her black boots the cause for the crunching of the grass beneath her her feet. Her hair was let loose to fly in the wind as it shifted each way the breeze so pleased.
As Hikari made her way down to the lake, she could see a lone figure sitting on a rock by the water's edge. As she got closer she could see what seemed to be another student. Her fast steady pace slowed as she approached, keeping a cautious eye on the girl. The girl seemed to be thinking about one think or another, but seeing as she couldn't read minds, Hikari wouldn't know what the girl was thinking.
Hikari walked over to the water's edge, crossing her arms and just watching the view. She wasn't much for words, so if the girl wanted to talk she could start the conversation. Hikari, however would either wait for the girl to speak or wait until she felt like leaving.

Footsteps interruped the girl's thoughts, Molly looked over her sholder to see who they belonged to, it was a girl, a student her age, standing there watching the view and not bothering Molly. Molly turned her attention back to the water for a few minutes, watching the colours dance.
Molly looked back at the other girl, she didn't speak to Molly, but then she didn't know her, how often was it that you striked up a conversation with a complete stranger? So for a few minutes longer the two remained silent. Molly didn't want to seem like a pain but it was starting to get awkward.
Molly sifted her postion on the rock, and wondered whether the other girl had come out here to think just like she had? Or perhaps she was just enjoying the view. Finally Molly spoke, softly but just loud enough for the other girl to here, "Lovely view, very pretty..."

Hikari gave a sideways glance to the other girl. She could feel the girl glancing at her every now and again. However her attention had been divided between the girl and her thoughts, so she paid little attention to the girl's curious glances, but more attention to her own thoughts instead.
Her father was still somewhere out there, though she had no recollection of what he looked like or his personality. All she knew was he was a vampire and his name. Well not really much of his name, just his surname which she had not kept as her own as her father had not seemed to keep his own daughter as his own. Her musings were broken, however, by the voice of another, the girl.
"Yes the view is very pretty," Hikari said in response, "the sun works well with the waters." Her crimson eyes were now fully visible in the light as she looked at the girl. Being a dhampir, or half vampire, her eyes were red and her fangs slightly visible whenever she used her abilities. Now a days, she used them almost constantly as practice.

Molly let out a small smile at the girls responce, she nodded in agreement. "Yeah, I would love to draw it" she muttered. Then Molly realised that she probably wouldn't care so she added, "Sorry if I'm disturbing you, or anything" I probably was but at least she has given me a bit of a distraction thought Molly.
Molly looked at the girl, noticing her eyes, they were red or rather crimson colored. It was interesting, doesn't that mean she's a vampire? No that's not right, she couldn't be out here if she was, then what is she? Molly shook her head, realising she'd been staring at her for quite some time, it must look very weird. "Sorry" she said, she hadn't meant to stare.
Molly stood up and straightened her black pants, her chains jiggling as she did so, Molly fiddled with her necklace, It had to gems on it, her birthstone and her mothers and in the middle of it was a lion head, she smiling thinking of how she got it. Molly always wore the necklace, it was like a link between her and her mother to Molly. Molly walked over to the waters edge, so she was closer to the other girl and wouldn't seem to rude.

Hikari gave the girl another glance. "You aren't bothering me," she said, "being able to draw is a wonderful skill, I sometimes draw when I'm bored or find myself wanting to. It's also a good way to relieve stress." She turned her gaze back to the scenery for the moment. It really would make a good picture if drawn properly.
The sun was almost set now and the colors of the sky were beautiful. The light glittered off the water like many kinds of jewels would glitter in the light. Orange, reds, and pinks were painted like a picture across the sky while the water resembled glittering gold. It was a magnificent sight, one that Hikari never really had the time to enjoy.
Hikari gave the girl another glance. She had felt her gaze for sometime and now caught her in the act of staring. The girl apologized and walked a little closer to Hikari. "So what are you studying here," she asked the girl curiously, though her curiosity didn't show on her face. She just continued to stare at the view, even as she had asked her question.

Molly smiled, happy she wasn't a bother, her smile grew wider as she realized the two girls had something in common. "You draw as well? I'd love to see some of your work one day" she said."Drawing is good way to escape reality" she said, mostly to herself. Molly nodded, confirming her own statement.
Molly turned again to watch the sun setting, the futher down the sun went the more brilliant and darker the colours grew. It was beautiful thought Molly, a million thoughts rushing through her head now as she enjoyed her time here, she rarely did get this peace and quite back home. And this new girl seemed good company, thought Molly. Her last thought was a sad one; I wish I could share this with you... she missed him so much. Sighing she tried not to think about it too much, the past was the past.
Once again the other girl had interuppted Molly's thoughts, but Molly wasn't annoyed or angry about it. Sometimes it was best not too think too much. "Magizoology, it wasn't my first choice though" she replied softly, "I wanted to do Auror training originaly but I guess the Headmaster thought I would be better suited to Magizoology instead" she explained, frowning slightly. Molly didn't mind too much, but it just wasn't the same. "And you?" she asked, returning the question.

Hikari almost seemed to space out for a moment before she answered. "I managed to get my first choice," she said, "which also happened to be auror training." She had done well on her entrance exam and had confidence in her answers during said exam. Not at one moment did she believe she would be stuck with her second choice, which had been divinations.
The sun was almost set now, the colors beginning to vanish into a dark night sky. Hikari had always preferred the night. She loved to look at the stars and the moon. It had intrigued her how the sky was so beautiful during the night. Though she was at least half a creature of the night so why wouldn't the night intrigue her?
"Why did you want to study to become an auror," the question had been asked idly. Hikari had some interest in the girl, including the fact that she had wanted to be an auror, though Hikari would be the one studying to be one. Though, she just now realized she didn't know tha girl's name yet. "I'm Hikari," she said as a breif introduction.

Molly raised an eyebrow at the girl's remark, Molly could just be slightly parniod but that last comment sounded somewhat cocky and confident. She didn't say anything knowing well it would sound stupid and rude. But Molly was not one to start fights, besides she was being silly anyway, just because you didn't get your first choice its no reason to get jealous. These thoughts in mind, Molly smiled and congratulated her. "Really? Well done, congratulations" she replied, finally.
Molly told herself that Magizoology would be just as fine and without all of the risks. With those thoughts in mind, she remained her usual happy self. It wasn't good for her to remain so upset all the time, you have to think positive she told herself. Molly turned to Lake, it was getting dark now and the first stars had already appeared but still she had no desire to return back to the school.
Without facing the other girl, Molly spoke answering her questions, whilst looking out at the night sky. "Well mostly because of my Mother she...died" said Molly, it had been a while since her death but still hard to talk about it. Molly didn't mind too much if this girl knew, she seemed nice enough and didn't seem like someone to go around spreading gosip. Molly contiuned, "Killed by a death eater...it hurt alot, I didn't want anyone else to go through that sort of pain, I wanted to help people" she finnished finnally.
"Oh, sorry I'm Molly" said Molly when the girl introduced herself, Molly laughed lightly, she always did seem to forget introductions. "Nice to meet you" she added, smiling.

Hikari continued to watch the sky as the stars grew more visible and the moonlight bathed the lands around the two young women. The moonlight had a similar affect on the water, making it shimmer with a white glow. The stars were numerous in the sky now, their light showing as beautifully as the moon's light.
Hikari listened to the girl talk about her mother and how she died. She thought it was sad, though she couldn't relate well as she never knew her own mother. The girl then introduced herself as Molly. Nodding her head to the name, Hikari was still in thought.
Her own mother had died to give birth to Hikari. In a sense it was like she had taken her mother's life to have her own. That thought made her seem selfish, though Hikari never thought of one thing only. The other thought she had was that her mother gave her life for her just born child.
Both thoughts seem that they would be thought up by two different people, however Hikari had a mind like that, looking on both sides. "My mother died too," she said quietly, "giving birth to me, so I never really knew her. I've been told that she was very nice. My great aunt even described her as pure in some ways, though I don't really know."

Molly watched the darkness fall, such a beautiful site she thought. Her smile spread across her face, she loved the darkness, all ways did. It was if she was drawn to it, she found it so intruging. She knew other people, especially little children were scared of the dark, but not Molly, she loved all things dark.
Molly glanced up at the moon, it was so high and full tonight, such a big comparrison to the sunset they saw before. Amazing how quickly it grew dark here thought Molly. What a sight, underneath the twinkling stars and then moonlight. God's eye, well that how Molly used to think of the moon way back when she was younger. Now she didn't belive in such things anymore.
Molly noticed that there was a lot of silence between the two, but she didn't mind. Besides she didn't know the girl all that well and perhaps she was a little shy, Molly didn't know but she didn't want to make Hikari feel uncomfortable with a dozen questions or so. But when she did speak, Molly looked at her with concern, she spoke about also having lost her mother, another trait these two shared, however it was much different and probably much worse than Molly's own tragity.
Molly spoke, not wanting to sound cliche but she didn't want to sound uncaring either. "I'm sorry that happened, that's horrible, I can't begin to understand how you must feel, at least I knew my mother" she told her. Molly wasn't really sure what to say after that, so she said nothing.

Hikari watched the stars twinkle down at her as Molly spoke. Their light seemed to sparkle like diamonds or some other jewel. The night was calming to her, being a creature of the night herself, it should be. The lakes waters were calm, reflecting her attitude at the moment. The subject of the conversation didn't really affect her mood though, not many things could after all.
Some thoughts, however, did go through her head at the moment. She didn't want Molly feeling sorry for her as she didn't feel sorry for herself. This was Hikari's life and how she lived it, she had never believed there was anything to be sorry for. What she believed was that life was life and that was all. If you can't control it then move on, but if you can then try your best.
Even though Hikari had never known her mother, she did miss her. However, she could not understand what it must be like to have lost her mother when she didn't really even know her. Like a cat found dead on the side of the road, you knew what it was, but you had no attachment to the creature so you don't truly miss it's presence from the world.
"You don't need to feel sorry, it's not a big deal," she said, "I never knew her, and though I regret that I just can't really miss her like you must miss your mother because I never knew her. Your pain must be far greater than mine." Her gaze fell to the horizon, just watching the calm view as small bats flew across the sky.

Molly watched the girl with curiousity, she must be a really strong individual, thought Molly. Molly not wanting to stare and seem like a freak drew her gaze back to the night sky. Looking up, the sky seemed to stretch on forever, the stars and the moon like lights, brightening their path.
Then looking back down, the watery reflection was very different but just as calming to Molly as the peacefulness of the night. Molly loved the night, everything was completely different to the day. It seemed almost calmer, less chaotic in Molly's oppinion anyway. Thoughts contiued to drift in and out through her head but she remained more or less in the same sort of happy peaceful mood, determined not to let anything upset her.
"That's not true, my pain is no greater than yours, not knowing is always painful but it is in the past" she told her, not wanting to start an argument. "You can't change it no matter how hard you want it too, that was something I had to live with" she pressed on.

Hikari gave Molly a glance, shifting her eyes at her for a moment then turning her gaze back to the horizon. Her thoughts continued across her mind, jumping from one thing to the next. Part of her was relaxing in the calm of the night, another part thinking of her mother, and still another part thinking of pain.
Can one really say someone else's pain is greater or less then another? No, not really. A person couldn't know another's pain or vise versa. She didn't know Molly's pain and Molly didn't know hers. There was no real way to compare whose was greater and whose was less. A sigh escaped her mouth. She was thinking to deeply again.
Perhaps a subject change was in order. Something a little less personal and more open for the both of them. Hikari thought for a moment about another topic of discussion, which was a bit difficult as she normally wasn't one to steer conversations. "How do you like the University so far," she asked, not really knowing what to talk about next.

Molly eyed Hikari carefully it was obvious to see she didn't want to talk about the subject any further, which was fair enough in Molly's oppinion, it was a very difficult and touchy subject. And Molly herself wasn't all that comfortable talking about it either. Both girls hardly knew the other, so Molly wasn't exactly up for opening up to her either.
What a day thought Molly, judging each other's pain, there was no possible way to do that unless you've lived through each others pain and pasts. But it was perhaps just that Hikari was a strong and Independant individual and did not need Molly's pity, especially at something she could not even begin to understand. Imagine a whole life, never knowing who your Mother was, what she was like. It seemed so hard.
Here she was again, thinking but this time she wasn't too upset, a little confused yet but still. However Molly was thankful that she didn't ask too many questions and Molly returned the favour. Hikari was unlike anyone else she'd ever met but it was a nice change thought Molly. "Um well, its a lot different from Hogwarts, that's where I was from, and I'm kinda glad that the classes are not too big, at least not yet anyway" she started, "The grounds are nice but I haven't really had much of chance to explore let alone get used to this place, todays my first day" she explained, ok so it wasn't the best reply but what could she say? "Um so what about you, how do you like it so far?" she asked curiously.
