The Headmaster looked through the resume of his latest applicant, Mr Orion Jetelis. His resume looked good, he seemed like a great teacher. He heard a knock on the door and told his applicant to enter, gesturing at the chair opposite his desk. "Good afternoon, Mr Jetelis, do take a seat." He paused a moment, skimming through the rest of the impressive resume and giving the applicant a chance to settle in. "So, Mr Jetelis, your interested in teaching potions? Why would you like to teach potions here at the International Wizard University?" The Headmaster waited for his reply, a quill in his right hand ready to scribble down his reply.

"I've always enjoyed potions, but whenever I taught or helped at schools, I felt that I did not have the full respect of the students, which always got me down a bit. So hopefully university students will be more mature and more respectful." he replied

"Interesting." The Headmaster smiled as he wrote down everything the man had said. It seemed he was passionate about potions, but the Headmaster was eager to know what experience he had had in the past. "What have you done, career wise in your life? Have you always been a teacher or did you have other jobs before you moved into teaching?" He already had the answers in brief on the resume, but he was hoping foir some more complete answers.

I used to be a quidditch player, but my time playing was cut short by injury. So I went around looking for teaching or teaching assistant jobs, I will admit they never lasted long, I got too much grief from the students. The only one that lasted a while was where I was the Arithmancy Professor's assistant, however when I saw the advert for this job, I had to give it a shot." he replied, he knew it was not a good answer, but it was the truth, and even if he didn't get the job, he'd have something out of the interview.

"I see. So what made you decide to change from arithmancy to potions? They are somewhat different, wouldn't you say? Have you had any experience teaching potions at all in the past?" The Headmaster knew experience was not exactly necessary, he was just interested to know why he had made the change.

"I knew the Arithmancy Professor from when we were at school, and the potions job had already been filled." he replied, "I took that one because I knew what to expect mainly. I'm afraid I've not had any experience teaching potions at a school or university, though I have worked in a lab before, making potions for the mass market, so my practical skills are highly tuned, which is why if I get the job, I'd rather be teaching the practical side of the subject, instead of purely theory." he added at the end, he was getting nervous, but trying not to let it show.

The Headmaster jotted down notes as he answered. He didn't have as much experience as some of the other applicants, but he still seemed very worthy of the job. "That is okay, experience is not everything, you seem to know a fair bit about potions and that is what really counts." He finished jotting down notes and then looked up at his applicant. "Know, how are you with students? Do you feel confident talking in front of large numbers of students?"

"I'm ok with that, it's more if they start to do stupid things, put dung bombs in your desk that's when I have problems. But hopefully university students are far more mature." he said, "I enjoy talking in front of the students, but to be honest I'm more of a practical person, I feel even better if I can help them out on a more individual basis, which you can't always do when giving lectures, which is why I applied for the practical post." he said.

"Ok then, fair enough. But if you did get the position, you would have to take at least some of the lectures, you wouldn't mind to much would you?"

"That's fine, I enjoy all aspects of potions." he replied, "And I don't have any problems teaching theory, I mean you can't have a practical aspect without a theory aspect." he added. He was feeling a little more confident, even though the hEadmaster had not let anything slip about how well he was doing.

The Headmaster scribbled down a few last notes before shutting his folder. "Ok, well that's about all I need to know. Before we finish up, do you have nay questions you would like to ask?"

"None that I can think of." he replied, "If I do later on, I'll contact you." he added. He was feeling relieved that the interview was almost over. He thought hard about any questions, just in case, but could not think of any.
